Photo-etched seat belts for American aircraft of the Second World War in 1:72 scale, in the steel version. An accessory for the cockpit in place of the belts molded into the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Seat belts are the first thing a viewer notices in a cockpit, and at the same time the thing a kit tends to skimp on. A belt formed from a flat part has a thickness matching the subject and can be folded over the edge of the seat just as it would lie in reality. In 1:72 scale it is one of the few interventions that can lift a cockpit without extensive rebuilding. The set is listed as belts for American aircraft of the Second World War.
Separate the part from the fret with a sharp scalpel against a hard surface, and never break it off by twisting, because that bends and tears it. Level the remains of the attachment tab with a fine-cut file. The steel version holds its shape after bending, so the belt looks as though it were hanging loosely over the edge of the seat or had slid onto the cushion. It is glued with super glue applied in drops, at the points where the belt touches the surface underneath.
Fit them at the moment when the cockpit is painted and dry but the fuselage is not yet closed. You can then reach the seat with tweezers from both sides. Leave the belts casually laid out, because a perfectly straightened belt looks artificial. If you are going to tone the cockpit, add a little dust to the belts so that they do not look new.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
