A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech maker Eduard. It is neither a kit nor a model, but an accessory for modelers in 1:72 scale which sharpens and speeds up the masking of the cockpit glazing and the wheels while the paints are sprayed. The precisely shaped masks are made of fine Japanese kabuki tape.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the cockpit glazing and the side windows and onto the wheel discs, so that after spraying the glazing stays clear and the wheels free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts to rounded surfaces, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when taken off. The frames of the glazing thus come out crisp and clean without cutting by hand.
The Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King was an American naval helicopter intended above all for the fight against submarines and for rescue duties. The SH-3D version had two turboshaft engines and a boat hull allowing an emergency alighting on the water. It served on the decks of aircraft carriers and in shore units, and a number of navies all over the world used it.
The set contains die-cut masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
