An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-borne helicopter Sikorsky SH-60B Seahawk in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The kit is molded in gray plastic on several sprues, with clear parts for the cabin glazing. The model has finely engraved panel lines and in the cabin it represents the sensor and instrument fit of the naval version. It is a rewarding model of a medium-sized helicopter with a reasonable number of parts.
The Sikorsky SH-60B Seahawk is a naval multi-role helicopter of the US Navy derived from the army UH-60 Black Hawk. It entered service in the 1980s and carries out anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, reconnaissance, search and rescue and cargo transport. It operates from the decks of warships and has a twin-engine powerplant, a four-blade main rotor and a folding tail boom to save space on board.
Finish the cabin and the instrument fit before closing up the fuselage. Use liquid cement on the plastic, mask the glazing and glue it with cement for clear parts. Lay a primer before painting; the typical gray naval scheme suits an airbrush. Bring out the panel lines with a wash and the edges and raised details with light dry brushing. Seat the four-blade rotor so that it holds a level plane, and take care over the exact fit of the tail boom.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
