A plastic kit of the Siebel Si 204 D/E in 1:72 scale from Smer. A German twin-engine trainer and liaison aircraft of the Second World War with a fully glazed nose.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the Czech maker Smer covers the German twin-engine Siebel Si 204 in the D and E versions in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The box holds the plastic parts, the clear parts of the fully glazed nose and a decal sheet with several marking options.
The Siebel Si 204 was a small all-metal twin-engine aircraft originally designed as a civil transport. The D version received the distinctive fully glazed nose with no separate windshield, which offered an excellent view and proved itself in crew training. The D and E machines served as trainers, liaison aircraft and light transports and were built in large numbers, among other places on the territory of the wartime Protectorate.
This is a classic kit of the older school, where it pays to clean up the parting flash and dry-fit the parts first. The glazed nose dominates the model – careful masking of the frames and a clean clear coat are essential to the final impression. Thin cement for plastic works well, along with a little filler at the wing joints and a gloss clear coat before the decals. Seat the engine nacelles carefully so that the geometry is right.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
