An extensive set of markings for a Spanish F/A-18 in the coloring for the thirtieth anniversary of the Ala 15 wing and for the 2016 tiger gathering. Prepared for the kit of one particular manufacturer. Intended for the Academy kit.

The Spanish Air Force brought the Hornet into service in the mid-1980s, and the base near Zaragoza became the home of one of the wings. When thirty years had passed since the first machines were taken over, the anniversary coincided with the hosting of the international tiger gathering and several Spanish Hornets were given a striking occasional coloring of a kind not normally seen on a combat machine. The target kit is Academy.
This is one of the more voluminous items of the line. Besides the anniversary artwork itself it also contains the accompanying lettering, the wing badges and the stylized tiger motifs that belonged to the gathering. According to the name, the sheet is prepared for the kit of a particular manufacturer, so the dimensions and the placement of the motifs match the shapes of that mold.
Meetings of units that have a big cat in their badge have been held since the beginning of the 1960s, and gradually they turned into a parade of the boldest finishes in European aviation. For a modeler they are rewarding precisely because they allow you to build a machine that is impossible to miss at first glance.
The Spanish Hornets are among the longest-serving European machines of their generation, and their anniversary finishes form a collecting chapter of their own. Anyone building a display case of European operators of the type usually reaches for one of these colorful schemes, because it catches the eye at once in an otherwise largely gray row of models.
The large tiger stripes run across the edges of the fuselage and over the panel lines. Divide them, therefore, into shorter sections where the artwork allows it, and let each section dry out on its own. You obtain the model separately.
