The plastic kit of the Soviet self-propelled gun on the BT-7 tank chassis from UM in 1:72 scale captures one of the lesser-known experimental projects of the prewar period.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a Soviet self-propelled artillery vehicle built on the chassis of the fast tank BT-7, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer UM (Unimodel). It is a short-run model with fine parts. The set is meant to be glued together and painted.
In the 1930s the fast tank BT-7 was one of the mainstays of the Soviet armored forces, and its chassis served as the basis for a number of derived and experimental projects. One of them was a self-propelled gun with a 76.2 mm tank gun in an enclosed fighting superstructure, meant to provide fire support. The real subject remained a development matter of the prewar period.
Short-run models call for more careful cleaning up of the parts and a dry run of the assembly. Assemble and finish painting the running gear and the tracks before closing the hull. Glue the small parts with liquid cement for plastic. Soviet green will show at its best with preshading, a wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the underside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
