A plastic kit of the early Soviet SU-1-12 self-propelled gun in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM (UniModels). The model is supplied as injection-molded plastic with rubber tires, to be assembled and painted.
The SU-1-12 was one of the first Soviet attempts at self-propelled artillery. A 76 mm regimental gun of the 1927 pattern was mounted on the cargo bed of the GAZ-AAA truck. The vehicle gave the artillery mobility, but with only minimal protection for the crew. It was built in small numbers at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s.
Take care over seating the wheels with their rubber tires and over assembling the open firing platform with the gun, which stays visible. A primer works well, then protective green with an airbrush, washes in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
