This is a resin detail accessory from Aires, not an airplane model. The set replaces the cockpit from a plastic kit with a faithfully cast interior of the Su-27 (Flanker B) fighter and of its Chinese derivative, the J-11B. It contains the instrument panel, the side consoles, the ejection seat and a floor with fine relief, which once painted will substantially raise the fidelity of the cockpit.

The real subject

The Su-27 is a heavy air superiority fighter with long range and marked agility. The J-11B is its Chinese licensed and further developed variant with modified avionics and equipment. Both machines stem from the same aerodynamic concept of the Flanker family.

Building and painting tips

Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash them to remove the mold release agent and bond them with super glue. Airbrush painting of the interior in the appropriate shades is advisable, with the instruments brought out with a brush and unified with a fine wash.
