The kit covers the Soviet T-70M light tank together with the 76 mm ZIS-3 gun, in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The T-70 was a Soviet light tank of the Second World War, built on parts derived from automobile production and intended for reconnaissance and for escorting infantry. Its crew was two men, which was its greatest weakness: the commander had to aim, load and fight the action all at once. The M version got a strengthened running gear and wider tracks, which helped the vehicle across country. The 76 mm ZIS-3 gun was one of the most widespread Soviet guns of the war and served in towed and self-propelled forms throughout the fighting. It is this pairing with the chassis of the light tank that the kit presents.
In 1:72 scale the model is small and a great deal depends on clean joints, because the slightest gap shows on an area that size. Dry-fit the parts before you reach for the glue and put the tracks on only once the running gear is finished. Soviet vehicles carried a uniform dark green coat, which can be brought to life by lightening the horizontal surfaces and using a darker shade in the shadows. Apply dust and mud from the bottom upward and bring out the gun muzzle and the vision ports only at the end, so that they do not disappear under further layers.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The scope of the kit and the markings enclosed are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
