An injection-molded plastic kit of the twin-engined Tupolev Tu-2S bomber in 1:72 scale from SabreKits. It is a limited edition focused on the postwar service of the type; the box holds decals for several foreign operators and adds a 3D-printed propeller for selected versions to the plastic parts. The model is therefore a useful addition to the Tu-2 family with less common postwar markings.
The Tupolev Tu-2 was a Soviet twin-engined tactical bomber of the Second World War. It stood out for good performance, a respectable bomb load and a rugged airframe, which is why it stayed in service for a number of years after the war. The Tu-2S version was the main production standard. Postwar aircraft served not only with the Soviet Air Force but also with other countries that took them over in the 1950s.
Use a thin cement for plastic and work in smaller subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit and the interior before you close the fuselage. Apply primer before the top coats, ideally with an airbrush; clean the 3D-printed parts first and glue them with super glue. On postwar schemes, pay attention to the right shade and to the placement of the decals, which differs from one operator to another.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
