Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Type 89 medium tank in the Otsu version with diesel drive, in 1:72 scale from IBG. The model captures the characteristic box-shaped hull, riveted and welded surfaces and the turret with its short gun. The kit is made up of plastic parts on sprues with fine relief, unless stated otherwise.
The Type 89 was a Japanese medium tank developed at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s and used by the Imperial Japanese Army in China and in the early campaigns of the Second World War. The Otsu version was given an air-cooled diesel engine and ranks among the first series-produced tanks with diesel drive. The vehicle carried a short 57 mm gun and additional machine guns and had a crew of four.
On vehicles, assemble and dry-fit the running gear before you close up the hull. Separate the small plastic parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin cement for plastic, then sand the joints. Lay the base coat over a primer, ideally with an airbrush. The broken-up camouflage scheme and the Japanese army shades come out well after using washes and dust pigments, which emphasize the rivets and recesses.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
