US WWII 75 gal fuel tank (2 pieces) is a resin accessory in 1:72 scale — a pair of drop tanks for American aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a pair of jettisonable fuel tanks in 1:72 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory with which you replace the coarser tanks from the box or add stores where the kit does not offer them at all. The number of pieces is stated in the name — there are two tanks in the package. The manufacturer is Brengun; the item belongs among resin and plastic accessories.
Drop tanks of 75 gallons capacity were hung under American fighters in the Second World War to extend their range, typically on pylons under the wing or under the fuselage. On a model they suit everywhere you want to capture an aircraft configured for a long-range flight or for escort duty. The accessory is universal — it was not made for a single kit but for the given type of tank.
Wash the castings first in warm water with detergent, so that no remains of mold release agent keep the paint from adhering. Do not snap the casting blocks off — cut them with a saw or a cutter and sand the surface back; when sanding resin, protect your breathing and work wet. They glue with super glue, as cement for plastic does not work on resin. Lay on a primer before painting; metal tanks stand out with a smooth glossy silver base, painted ones with the matte covering shade of the aircraft.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
