An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Korean maker Academy. It captures the American Grumman F-14 Tomcat carrier fighter with its variable-geometry wing in the F-14B version. It is a modern mold whose parts allow the later versions of the Tomcat to be built. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat supersonic carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-sweep wing, developed for the defense of carrier battle groups. The F-14B version received more powerful engines that removed the problems of the original powerplant and improved its combat qualities. Besides the air superiority role, the aircraft later carried out strikes on ground targets as well.
Join the plastic parts with a thin plastic cement and take care to set the movable wings correctly. Finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage. We recommend an airbrush, a primer and a gloss coat under the decals. The gray naval schemes come to life with a fine patina and picked-out panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
