Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter F-8E Crusader in 1:72 scale from Academy. The box offers decals for two color schemes of US Navy fighter squadrons, including the striking The Hunters. The wing can be built in the raised position, as it looked on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was a supersonic carrier fighter of the late 1950s, famous for its unusual wing with variable incidence, which tilted up for take-off and landing. It is often called the last gunfighter of the Navy, because it carried cannons as its main armament. The F-8E version received a more powerful engine, better avionics and underwing pylons for missiles. Crusaders left a strong mark on the fighting over Vietnam.
Glue with liquid cement for plastic and paint the small cockpit parts in advance. Decide whether you will build the wing lowered or in the raised deck position — each variant looks quite different. Metal surfaces benefit from an airbrush and light shading of the panels; apply a gloss coat under the decals and even out the surface with a matte coat at the end. A discreet wash will bring out the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
