Injection-molded plastic kit Academy 1:72 PBM-5A Mariner: the large American naval flying boat with amphibious landing gear.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the large American Martin PBM-5A Mariner naval flying boat in 1:72 scale from Academy. In the box you will find plastic sprues, clear parts for the glazing and decals for US Navy markings. The model is built with the classic plastic cement technique.
The Mariner was a twin-engine patrol flying boat of the US Navy with a distinctive cranked gull wing. The PBM-5A version was amphibious, that is, fitted with retractable landing gear for operation from land as well as from water. The aircraft flew long-range patrol, search and rescue missions over the oceans long after the Second World War.
Finish and paint the interior and the observers' positions before joining the halves of the boat hull. Mask the extensive cabin glazing. Fill and sand the hull carefully so that the joints run smoothly. Spray the large wing surfaces with an airbrush and lay gloss varnish under the decals; fit the engine nacelles and the landing gear last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
