An injection-molded plastic kit of the Vultee Vengeance dive bomber in 1:72 scale from the maker Dora Wings. It is a modern short-run kit completed with photo-etched parts and a self-adhesive mask for the glazed areas; the decal sheet offers several sets of markings. Check the exact contents of the package against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Vultee Vengeance was an American single-engine dive bomber of the Second World War. It never established itself in combat with the armed forces of the United States, but it did serve with the RAF, the Royal Australian Air Force and the Indian Air Force, chiefly in Southeast Asia and the Southwest Pacific. The Mk.I and IA versions were built for British orders and differed above all in their powerplant. Thanks to its large dive brakes the Vengeance could make accurate diving attacks on ground targets.
A short-run kit calls for more careful work: check the joints dry and bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the interior and the landing gear bays before the fuselage is closed, and mask the glazed areas with the mask supplied. Apply the British camouflage scheme with an airbrush over primer and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash; underline service in the tropics with discreet dusting and wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
