This resin set of the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, brings a faithfully cast tail wheel for a model of the Vickers Wellington bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers that replaces the coarser plastic part with a crisp casting with a fine rendering of the tire and the fork.
The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War. It made its name with the unconventional geodetic structure of its fuselage, which gave the aircraft remarkable resistance to battle damage. It was deployed from the first months of the war on night bombing, and later also on maritime patrol and to train crews.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove any mold release residue from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp saw or a knife and sand the cut surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with ordinary plastic cement. Try the fit dry before painting; resin may need a little cleaning up.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
