Wiking 2 brings, in 1:72 scale, the markings of the staff vehicles of the SS-Pz.Reg. 5 regiment: Panther tanks, command Panthers and half-track vehicles.

The second part of the series from Star Decals concentrates on the vehicles of the staff of the SS-Pz.Reg. 5 regiment in 1:72 scale. Besides ordinary Panthers it covers command Panthers and half-track vehicles as well. It is an addition to a model, not a kit.
The command Panther differed little from the fighting one on the outside, but inside it carried extra radio sets and, with them, a smaller supply of ammunition; its aerial fit gives it away above all. The staff had armored half-tracks for this on top of that, from which the advance of the unit was directed and in which the signal troops rode. The markings of staff vehicles therefore look different than with the fighting companies: instead of plain three-digit numbers, headquarters insignia and different combinations of numbers appear. Anyone building a scene with a command post will appreciate that the markings of the tank and the half-track stay together.
The small headquarters insignia will take only a thin coat of paint under them, so do not skimp on material with the base, but do not skimp on time either. Once it is applied, leave the design in peace for at least an hour and only then move it. It can be fixed with a semi-matte varnish, which leaves the fine lines legible and at the same time does not light the surface of the model up. With the smallest insignia it works well to trim them off as close to the drawing as possible.
