Plastic kit of the Grumman X-29 (Hasegawa) in 1:72 scale — an experimental aircraft with a forward-swept wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American experimental aircraft in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. It captures the futuristic X-29 with its unmistakable forward-swept wing and forward canards. The box contains parts in gray plastic with fine details, a clear cockpit canopy, a cockpit and a decal sheet. The kit is simple and straightforward in construction, so it also suits less experienced modelers who want an unusual machine for their collection.
The Grumman X-29 was an experimental technology demonstrator built to research flight with a forward-swept wing and a range of advanced technologies. Two machines were built and they flew in the 1980s and the early 1990s in a program of NASA and the US Air Force. Among other things the X-29 was the first aircraft with a forward-swept wing to pass the speed of sound. The unusual layout was aerodynamically unstable and could be held only thanks to computer controls, so the machine tested the limits of the technology of the day.
Finish and paint the cockpit first and only then close up the fuselage. Use liquid cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush; mask the clear canopy before painting. Seat the unusual wing and the canards exactly according to the instructions so that the angles are right. Light experimental schemes with striking markings come out well on a smooth, even base; apply the decals over a gloss coat of varnish and seal them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
