An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Yak-1000 experimental supersonic demonstrator in 1:72 scale from Modelsvit. The box contains plastic sprues, clear parts and decals. The model is built from individual parts and is intended to be glued and painted.
The Yak-1000 was a Soviet experimental aircraft from the Yakovlev design bureau, designed at the start of the 1950s to study supersonic flight. It was marked by an extremely slim fuselage, small heavily swept wings and a single jet engine. In the end the machine never flew and remained at the prototype stage.
Because of the long slim nose, reckon on enough weight to stop it sitting on its tail. Work up the cockpit before closing the fuselage and use a thin cement on the plastic. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush, and give the surfaces under the decals a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
