The MZ ES 250/2 with a cargo Stoye sidecar in 1:87 scale is an outfit for a railway scene and for the display case of a collector of small scales.
Responsibility details are not available.
A model of a motorcycle with a sidecar in the railway size of 1:87. The pair, formed by a machine from Zschopau and a cargo sidecar of Leipzig make, was an ordinary working means in eastern Europe: it delivered mail, spare parts and small goods where a car did not pay.
The MZ marque continued an older tradition of motorcycle production in Zschopau and the ES range won a reputation as a very durable touring machine. The ES 250/2 version is recognizable by the more angular shapes of the tank and the bodywork; it was driven by a single-cylinder two-stroke engine and the design reckoned with permanent operation with a sidecar. Sidecars of the Stoye marque came in a passenger and a cargo form; it is exactly the cargo variant that turns the motorcycle into a small utility vehicle.
The whole is barely a few centimeters long, so the greatest attention belongs to the fit of the frame of the sidecar to the motorcycle; try the stance of both wheels dry, so that the outfit stands straight. Apply the primer as thinly as possible, otherwise the fine detail disappears. A silver marker stands in for the chrome surfaces, a flat black with a hint of stitching for the saddle. You can fill the cargo area of the sidecar with a load of your own and give the scene a story by that.
The outfit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; finishing it is up to the modeler.
