The Marauder was a twin-engine medium bomber aircraft of the period of the Second World War, designed with high speed in mind. That was paid for by a fairly small wing and the high wing loading resulting from it, which raised the takeoff and landing speeds and placed increased demands on the training of the crews. On the later batches the span of the wing was increased, which made flying at low speeds easier. The type was used above all in daylight bombing from medium altitudes, where its speed and defensive armament came into their own.
For readers with an interest in the bomber force of the Second World War, for modelers who are looking for the context of the employment and the units for a model, and for collectors of monograph ranges.
