A figure of a Greek warrior 90 mm tall. A large subject from the ancient world, meant for display on its own in a case.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Greek warrior is one of the most enduring subjects in figure modeling. He is most often shown as a hoplite, that is, a heavy infantryman fighting in close ranks, whose equipment consisted of a large round shield carried on the forearm, a spear, a short sword and a bronze helmet worn over a padded liner. The chest was covered either by a bronze cuirass or by a layered linen corselet, and the shins by bronze greaves. It is the shield that is the most interesting surface for a painter, because strong devices were painted on it that could be seen at a distance in the line.
This is a figure of a Greek warrior 90 mm tall. The number in the name gives the height of the subject, not a scale, and places the figure among the larger collector's pieces. At this size the face, the musculature and the fall of the cloth can be worked up to a degree that is not possible on tiny figures.
Cut off the excess material and the marks left by production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand what is left. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. Cyanoacrylate glue will join the parts securely. On the large area of bare skin it pays to work in thin transitions, because every sharp division shows at such a size. Bronze looks truer when a darker shade is laid into the recesses and the raised edges are lightened. The particular assembly sequence is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For collectors and figure painters who want a large subject with room for fine painting, and for anyone interested in antiquity. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
