An injection-molded plastic kit of the Group racing car Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo of 1978 in 1:24 scale from Tamiya. The model captures the extensively re-bodied turbo version of the Capri as it raced in the German touring and sports car championship DRM.
The Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was prepared for the 1978 season by the West German Zakspeed team for the prestigious DRM series (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft) under Group 5 rules. The car became famous for its extremely low, wide body and its low weight of around 790 kg. It was powered by a turbocharged DOHC inline four of 1427 cc with an output of around 375 horsepower, which made the light special a fierce rival.
Smooth the body carefully and spray it in several coats of gloss paint, ideally with a clear coat over the top for a deep shine. Seat the sponsor decals on a glossy surface, so that no silvered edges appear. Bring the engine bay and the interior to life with metal shades and detail painting; leave the polished and chrome features clean and bright.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
