A plastic kit of the American Plymouth Road Runner coupe of model year 1970 in 1:24 scale from Revell. The manufacturer gives 77 parts, so it is a kit of medium scope that gets you to a result without building a complicated chassis. The main work is in the body paint and in the period graphics. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Plymouth conceived the Road Runner as a muscle car without superfluous equipment: the buyer got a strong engine and a minimum of extras. Model year 1970 brought a reworked front and rear end, bold graphics and a range of strong eight-cylinder engines, among them a version with three two-barrel carburetors. The car was sold both as a coupe and as a convertible and today it is among the most sought-after American cars of its era.
With a muscle car the result stands or falls on the paint: spray the body in thin coats, let it cure and polish it. The vivid period shades need a white base, otherwise they turn gray. Keep the sheens apart — a gloss body, a matte chassis and wheels, and the exhausts and mufflers picked out with a dark wash. Do the black graphics on the hood with a decal or by masking, not with a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
