An injection-molded plastic kit of an American coupe in 1:24 scale in the Model Set edition, that is, together with modeling paints, a brush and glue. The box states an opening hood, a detailed engine, an elaborate chassis and a number of chrome-plated parts - bumpers, the radiator grille and the wheel covers. The decal sheet also carries the gold stripes that set the GT 350 H rental version apart.
The Shelby GT 350 H came about in 1966 from an order by a car rental company that wanted to offer its customers a genuine sports car. The cars were given black paint with gold stripes and soon earned the nickname Rent-A-Racer, because some customers rented them for racing and returned them on Monday. Under the hood sat an eight-cylinder engine with a displacement of 289 cubic inches, and the car is today among the most collectible Mustangs of all.
Black paint is the most demanding part of the work on this subject: it shows every scratch, so smooth and clean up the surfaces before painting. Lay down several thin coats rather than one heavy one. On chrome-plated parts, scrape the plating away at the joint: cement for plastic does not hold on plating and would damage the surrounding surface. Lay the gold stripes from the decal sheet over a gloss base and press the air out from under them with a soft cloth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The set contains paints, a brush and glue; other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
