This is a precisely turned metal barrel, not a model in its own right. It replaces the plastic barrel of the 152 mm M-10 (M-10S) tank howitzer on the Soviet KV-2 heavy tank in 1:35 scale. It is made by the Polish company Aber, which has long specialized in turned barrels and fine detail.
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank from the beginning of the Second World War with a massive slab-sided turret carrying the 152 mm M-10S howitzer. It is precisely the massive barrel that is its most striking recognition feature, which is why every inaccuracy in it shows. A turned metal barrel has a perfectly circular cross section and a cleanly made muzzle with no mold seams.
Degrease the metal barrel before gluing and roughen it slightly so that the paint holds better; a primer intended for metal is ideal. Seat it in the place of the original plastic barrel and adjust the locating pins to suit the particular kit if needed. Glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
This is an accessory for an existing kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
