Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of a present-day tracked self-propelled howitzer, offered in 1:35 scale by Zvezda. The model is meant for a classic build with cement and for painting; it is a sizeable vehicle that takes up noticeable room in a display case even when finished and stands out as a striking piece on its own.
The 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV is a 152 mm artillery system built on a tracked chassis derived from the tanks of the T-90 series. Its characteristic feature is the tall, angular turret with a long barrel and automated loading, which allows a high rate of fire without physical strain on the crew. The layout aims at keeping the crew out of the compartment with the ammunition. The vehicle is usually completed by mechanized ammunition supply and by modern fire control equipment.
Prepare and paint the running gear and the tracks before you close up the sides of the hull, otherwise they are hard to reach later. The long barrel deserves careful gluing and sanding of the seam, because every unevenness shows on a smooth tube. The large flat surfaces of the turret and the hull come into their own when sprayed with an airbrush: first a primer, then the base shade and a subtle lightening of the centers of the surfaces. Build the weathering up in layers, a dark wash in the engraved lines and lighter pigments on the chassis and the lower parts of the sides, where dust settles on a tracked vehicle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
