1:35 Concrete Breeze Blocks Version 8 (40pcs) is a set of concrete blocks in 1:35 scale from the brand GINGER CAT, meant for building surroundings on a diorama. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory which gives a model a setting. The name gives forty pieces, so out of them you will build an object in its own right or round out a scene you already have under way.
In a military setting the blocks are often not used in the way they were meant to be. They are stacked into improvised walls around a post, used as a roadblock across a roadway, as packing under a vehicle or as a protective wall around a shelter. This very improvisation comes across on a diorama very convincingly, because it is plainly the work of the people on the spot and not of a building firm. Forty pieces are enough for several such small structures spread about a base.
An improvised wall should look quickly built: shift the courses, leave the height uneven, turn one block differently from the others. Avoid a perfect bond in the masonry, which would spoil the whole impression. In color, go from light concrete to darker patches and at the end add dust in the color of the surrounding ground so that the structure fits into the scene. When you are building packing under a vehicle, check the height against the model beforehand so that the wheels or the tracks sit right. A matte varnish will only strengthen the impression of concrete.
