A set of models of a German jack from the period of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory for models of equipment and for a diorama. According to the name it holds 12 pieces, so it is enough for a whole group of vehicles or for the fitting out of a workshop scene.
A jack belonged to the standard equipment of German vehicles and was carried fastened on the hull, on a fender or on the side of the body. It served when a wheel was changed, during work on the running gear and during recovery, and field maintenance practically could not do without it. That is exactly why it appears in photographs of the day almost everywhere: on tanks, on half-tracks and on ordinary trucks. For a modeler it is one of those small objects which can give a scene credibility faster than a complicated conversion, because the viewer's eye knows them and expects them to be there.
The jacks can be put to use in two ways: stowed in their place on the vehicle, or laid loose in a diorama as part of a working scene. The second option is worth thinking about, because it is precisely set-aside tools that tell a story. The painting is simple but rewarding: a dark metallic base, a light emphasis of the edges, and fine traces of oil and rust where the jack touches the ground. If you fit several of them, vary the degree of grime from piece to piece so that the set does not come across as poured out of one mold.
