Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal gun barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber for a model of the Soviet ISU-122 heavy self-propelled gun. It corresponds to the 122 mm A-19 gun in its self-propelled form. This is a detail accessory, not a vehicle model. A long, slender barrel is one of the parts where the difference between plastic and turned metal shows most, because metal stays straight even after it is glued on and has no mold parting line.
The ISU-122 was a Soviet heavy self-propelled gun on the chassis of the IS heavy tank, armed with a 122 mm gun in a fixed fighting superstructure. Compared with the howitzer version it had a longer barrel and a higher muzzle velocity, which made it an effective weapon against armor and against fortifications. Vehicles used at the close of the war often had a heavy machine gun added on the roof of the superstructure.
Cut the plastic barrel off and drill out the hole in the mantlet to the diameter of the metal pin. On a long barrel, check dry that it does not sit at an angle and does not droop. Degrease the metal and glue with cyanoacrylate glue, removing any excess at once so that no white marks are left. Apply a primer for metal surfaces to the metal. Leave the muzzle matte and dark; the transition to the mantlet can be picked out with a dark wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
