A set of plastic figures of Soviet firemen of the 1980s in 1:35 scale by the Ukrainian maker ICM. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of figures captures members of the Soviet fire service in the 1980s. It is intended to bring dioramas with firefighting and utility vehicles of the same scale to life, because a vehicle on its own without a crew looks empty. You will find the exact number of figures and their poses on the packaging and in the instructions. The manufacturer is ICM, a Ukrainian brand known for figures and utility vehicles.
In the 1980s Soviet fire units used characteristic turnout clothing with a helmet, belts and breathing equipment that differ markedly from today's Western equipment. That is precisely why the figures suit the building of period-accurate scenes, from an ordinary response to a building fire to scenes connected with the operation of industrial sites. The 1:35 scale is rewarding for figures: it is large enough for the face and the structure of the clothing to stand out, and the model still fits on an ordinary shelf.
Glue the figures with liquid cement for plastic, which runs into the joint and leaves no excess on the surface. Sand the parting lines on the arms and legs carefully, otherwise you will see them once the figures are painted. Apply a thin base coat before painting, ideally sprayed. Faces are painted from a darker shade to a lighter one; leave the eyes until the end and make them with the tip of a fine brush, not as a dot. The clothing comes to life with a light wash into the folds and a dry brushing of the edges; turnout clothing also stands up to dirt, soot and rubs in the places where a person leans against the vehicle.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
