A set of replacement parts for a model of the German StuG III assault gun in its late Ausf. G form, in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory to one: the set replaces those parts of a model that are necessarily simplified in injection-molded plastic. The vehicle has to be obtained separately.
The StuG III came about on the chassis of the Panzer III tank as an assault gun without a rotating turret, that is, as a means of direct fire support for the infantry. The Ausf. G form was the most widespread and the latest: it had a long 75 millimeter gun, a commander's cupola and a range of changes to the armor. During the war it turned from an infantry weapon into what was essentially a tank destroyer, because it was cheaper and quicker to produce than a tank and its low silhouette took cover well in the terrain.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. Cut the remnants left from production away with a fresh blade, level the area off and protect your breathing while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before fitting, try each part dry against the part from the box, so that you know how much material to take off the model. Before painting, lay a primer on the replacement parts that will even the surface out with the surrounding plastic.
