The real subject

USS Massachusetts (BB-59) was an American fast battleship of the South Dakota class. She carried a main armament of 406 mm caliber in triple turrets and a heavy anti-aircraft battery. During the Second World War she fought in the Atlantic and in the Pacific and took part in the landings in North Africa. Today she is preserved as a museum ship.

Building and painting tips

Choose either the full hull or the waterline version. Paint the hull and the superstructure with an airbrush and use masking for the period camouflage scheme. Bring out the panel lines and the deck details with a wash and a dry brush. Fit the fine accessories, the antennas and the aircraft at the very end.

  • More advanced modelers

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
