A resin casting captures the tread pattern and the small hub detail markedly more cleanly than injection-molded plastic. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit. The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was an American twin-engined two-seat aircraft that served with the US Navy as well as the US Air Force and with a number of other operators. The F-4B version was the carrier variant meant for operation from aircraft carriers, with landing gear sized for hard deck landings and with folding wing tips. It is precisely the massive nose and main landing gear that are among the details clearly visible on a model of this type, which is why replacement wheels are worth it.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that no mold release agent stays on the surface. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw and sand the area wet with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Painting the tire dark gray rather than pure black works better, and the hub is best separated with a mask. Fit the wheel only after the landing gear leg is painted; that saves work with masking.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
