Clear Prop Models 1:48 F-86A Sabre air brakes replaces the fuselage airbrakes of the Sabre with a more faithful rendering that includes the structure of the bays behind them.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set covers the fuselage airbrakes of the first production Sabre in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model, but an accessory for a kit you already have. It matters mainly on a model with the brakes in the open position, because the bay behind them is then visible as well, and the kit usually renders it as no more than a shallow recess.
The North American F-86A was the first production version of the Sabre, the swept-wing jet fighter whose combats over Korea entered the history of aviation. Its airbrakes were placed on the sides of the fuselage and swung out into the airstream after landing or during rapid deceleration. On the ground they were often left open on parked aircraft, which is a rewarding sight for a modeler.
Rinse the resin parts and get the mold release agent off them, otherwise the paint will not hold. The opening in the fuselage has to be cleaned up so that the brake sits flush. Paint the inner surfaces before fitting, because they are hard to reach later. Highlighting the edges and light soiling give the open brakes depth and set them apart from the surrounding surface.
This item completes a kit you already have. On its own it does not make a model and it contains no chemicals.
