A small replacement part from Clear Prop Models. It replaces the plastic radiator on a model of the Soviet truck and its derived variants.
The ZiS-5 was a three-ton Soviet truck built from the 1930s, which became one of the most widespread vehicles of the Red Army. The 5V version came about during the war as a simplified, thrifty variant with a wooden cab and without some of the pressed parts. The same chassis also carried the BZ series of aircraft refueling tankers, which topped up the fuel of aircraft at field airfields. The radiator with its characteristic grille is one of the most visible elements of the front end on all these vehicles.
Clean the mold release agent off the casting and cut the casting block off so that a flat rear surface is left. Fit it with super glue only after the base color of the body has dried, otherwise it is harder to reach into the fins of the grille. Bring out the grille itself with a dark wash and suggest the edges with a dry brush in a metallic shade. Dust settled on the vertical surface of the radiator is a rewarding detail that gives the vehicle scale.
