The Hispano Aviación HA-1112 was the Spanish license-built descendant of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. Once the original powerplants had been used up, the last version, designated M.1L, was given the British Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, which changed the shape of the forward fuselage fundamentally: the slim tapered nose disappeared and was replaced by a more massive cowling bulged on top with a radiator slung beneath. It is to that change that the aircraft owes its nickname Buchón, that is a pigeon with a puffed-out chest. The machines served with the Spanish Air Force into the 1960s and later became famous as flying props in a film.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, so that no mold release residue clings to them. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, never break them off; sand wet and with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue, as modeling cement for polystyrene does not work here. Before fitting, check with a dry test how the set seats into the base model and modify the plastic parts as needed. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, which evens out the plastic and the resin. Under the decals go over the area with a gloss varnish compatible with the paint used, and at the end even the surface out with semi-matte varnish.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
