An injection-molded plastic kit of the light multirole helicopter MH-6J Little Bird in 1:48 scale from ICM. It is a new tooling, and the model consists of gray plastic and a clear sprue with the cabin glazing and the navigation lights. The box contains a decal sheet with American markings; the model is assembled and painted from the kit and accessories are not included.
The MH-6 Little Bird is a lightened special operations version of the helicopter of the Hughes and MD 500 family (derived from the OH-6). The letter M marks the transport and insertion variant, which carries operators on external side benches (the plank) and serves for the rapid insertion and extraction of teams. It is powered by a single turboshaft engine and the landing gear consists of skids. The type is associated with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment of the US Army (nicknamed the Night Stalkers), which uses it for night and low-level missions.
Glue with a thin cement for plastic and fix the clear cabin parts with a cement for clear parts, so that they do not go dull. Mask the glazing and the navigation lights before spraying. A small airframe benefits from a primer and an airbrush, and the single-color dark schemes of special forces come out well with gentle brightening of the panels and a dry brush on the edges. Fit the external benches and the fine antennas only after the base color has been sprayed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
