A set of two turned barrels for German MG34 machine guns in 1:48 scale from Aber. The metal parts replace the plastic machine gun barrels on models of armored vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of two turned metal barrels in 1:48 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It replaces the plastic barrels of the MG34 machine guns on models of armored vehicles, typically in the machine gun mount in the front plate of the hull and in the coaxial mount in the turret. It is not a model but a detail accessory.
The MG34 was a general purpose machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber which, in its vehicle version with a thicker armored barrel jacket, appeared on practically all German armored vehicles of the Second World War. It is precisely the slender profile of the barrel and its hollow muzzle that are the details injection-molded plastic cannot render faithfully in 1:48 scale.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the body of the machine gun as possible and drill the hole out to the right diameter if needed. Degrease the metal part, roughen it lightly and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue applied in the smallest possible amount. Emphasize the hollow muzzle with a dark shade and a light dusting of graphite dust or pigment. Apply a primer for metals before painting, because ordinary paint does not hold on a smooth turned surface. The parts are small, so work with tweezers over a mat.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
