A display plaque from Kelik printed with the American national aircraft insignia in its circular form, with a star in the center. This is the marking that accompanied American aircraft through the first decades of military aviation, before it was replaced by the later version with side bars. The product name gives a square with a 240 mm side, a board 3 mm thick and a weight of 190 grams.
A star in a circle is one of the most instantly recognizable aviation symbols there is, and under a model it works as immediate information about the country of origin. The model gains context without a single word of text, and a whole shelf of American types gets a shared visual denominator that sets it apart from the rest of the collection. When photographing, the insignia also keeps the shot from looking empty.
