A large injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Honda CB750F motorcycle in the large 1:6 scale from Tamiya. It is a premium kit of the Big Scale series with exceptional detail: the air-cooled inline four has its cooling fins rendered and ignition leads made of vinyl tubing, the front forks are metal with a plated finish and working springs, and the exhausts have a smooth plated shine. The side covers are removable, so even after assembly you can look in at the inner mechanics. The assembled model is about 38 cm long.
The Honda CB750F appeared on the Japanese market in 1979 and quickly became a bestseller in the 750 class. It was powered by an air-cooled DOHC four of about 748 cc with four valves per cylinder, carried in a double cradle frame of welded steel tubing. The combination of performance, reliability and clean design made it an icon of the Japanese motorcycle at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies; glue the metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the frame, the engine and the exhausts before you fit the bodywork and the tank. In the large scale the detail of the engine and the chrome shows to advantage, so an airbrush, primer and patient polishing of the painted surfaces pay off. Bring out the chain, the wiring and the fasteners with metal shades and restrained weathering, and leave the plated parts glossy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
