Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light anti-aircraft cruiser USS San Diego as she was in 1944, in 1:700 scale, the manufacturer's part number E57012. Vee Hobby has issued this model in two releases: the basic one as V57012 and this Deluxe, which adds extras to the plastic parts. The difference between the two packages is the key thing to look at, so check before you buy which of them you are taking.
USS San Diego belonged to the Atlanta class, that is to the light cruisers built primarily as anti-aircraft cover for the fast task forces. Her main armament consisted of dual-purpose guns in twin turrets, arranged so that they could cover the sky above a whole formation. The cruiser entered service at the beginning of 1942 and fought her way across the Pacific from Guadalcanal, through the Gilbert and Marshall Islands, to Japanese waters; she was among the most decorated American ships of that war. After the war she was placed in reserve and in 1960 sold for scrap.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
