An injection-molded plastic kit of the American battleship USS West Virginia as she was in 1941, in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The model can be built with a full hull on a stand or in the version at the level of the water. The package holds photo-etched parts, decals, a base and a nameplate; the texture of the wooden deck is finely engraved.
USS West Virginia was a battleship of the Colorado class carrying a main gun armament of 406 mm caliber. In December 1941 she was seriously damaged in the attack on Pearl Harbor, but she was later repaired, thoroughly modernized and returned to the fighting in the Pacific. The model captures her appearance of 1941.
Decide on a full hull or a waterline before you glue the hull together. You will accent the wooden deck with a thin wash, and glue the fine photo-etched railings and the masts with super glue. We recommend a primer, an airbrush for the period American grays of 1941 and a final matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
