Injection-molded plastic model of the German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109E-7/Trop in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit to glue and paint. The exact contents of the package and the choice of markings are given in the enclosed instructions.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, was the main German fighter at the start of the Second World War. The E-7 version received a strengthened airframe and the ability to carry a drop tank or a bomb. The Trop suffix denotes the tropicalized form for deployment in North Africa and the Mediterranean: the machines had above all a dust filter on the engine intake and additional desert equipment. The power came from a liquid-cooled inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine.
Paint and fit the cockpit and the framed canopy before you close up the fuselage. Do not forget the dust filter on the intake, which is what marks the Trop version out. Apply the base coat over a primer with an airbrush; desert camouflage in sand shades will show best once the panel lines are picked out with a wash and restrained dust weathering is added to the underside of the fuselage and the landing gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
