The US Swept-wing Thunder edition focuses on American finishes and offers several marking options. Two versions of the canopy are included, so the cover can be built open or closed. The Republic F-84F Thunderstreak came about as the swept-wing development of the straight-wing F-84 Thunderjet. The combination of a swept wing and a more powerful jet engine raised performance to a level comparable with the F-86 Sabre fighter. The Thunderstreak served as a fighter-bomber with the US Air Force and with a number of allied NATO air forces and carried a wide range of external stores.
Separate the parts with a knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Use a primer before painting. The natural metal finish of the American machines comes out well with metallic paints or Alclad shades; apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. An open canopy lets the interior detail be shown, so pay attention to cleaning up and fitting the glazing.
