A plastic kit of the British carrier-based biplane Fairey Albacore Mk.I in 1:72 scale from manufacturer Special Hobby.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fairey Albacore was a British carrier-based torpedo and bomber biplane developed as a successor to the well-known Swordfish. It entered service with the Fleet Air Arm at the start of the Second World War and, compared to its predecessor, offered an enclosed crew cockpit and a Bristol Taurus radial engine. It was deployed, among other places, over the Mediterranean and North Africa, both against ships and for illumination and observation duties. The paradox of the type is that the Swordfish, which it was meant to replace, ultimately served longer than it did.
The model represents the Mk.I version in 1:72 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; you will need glue, paints, and basic modeling tools to build it. The manufacturer states the exact package contents and the range of color schemes offered.
With a biplane, the upper wing determines the result. Glue the struts gradually and keep checking the angle and parallel alignment of both wings, ideally on a flat surface and against the light. Paint the cockpit and fuselage interior before gluing the fuselage halves together, because you will not be able to reach inside afterward. Protect the glazing with a mask or liquid masking fluid before spraying. Finally, on this type it is worth adding the rigging wires strung between the wings, since the silhouette of a biplane looks empty without them.
The package contains the kit. Paints, glue, filler, and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
