An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat F-16D Fighting Falcon in 1:72 scale from the German manufacturer Revell. This is the Model Set edition: alongside the sprues with the parts, the decals and the instructions, the manufacturer also includes the basic paints, a brush and cement for polystyrene. The decals are prepared for the striking scheme from the NATO Tiger Meet 2014 aviation gathering.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter with a bubble canopy, a ventral intake duct under the nose and a fly-by-wire control system. The two-seat F-16D version has two seats in tandem and serves for training as well as for combat duties. Air units that carry a tiger in their emblem meet at the Tiger Meet gathering every year and decorate their machines with a special scheme for the occasion. That is exactly what turns an ordinary fighter into a rewarding model for a display case.
Separate the parts from the sprue with nippers and level the sprue nubs with a file. On plastic use a thin polystyrene cement, which melts the joint. Paint the cabin and the landing gear bays before the fuselage is closed, because afterward you cannot get at them. Large areas of color come out best from an airbrush. Lay an intermediate gloss clear coat under the decals so that the edges of the carrier film do not show, and once dry even the whole thing out with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. In the Model Set edition the basic paints, a brush and glue are included in the package; other accessories are not.
