An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-15 interceptor in the TM version (NATO reporting name Flagon-F) in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The Flagon-F version is marked by an ogival nose radome and a reworked wing tip. The kit has finely engraved panel lines, a cockpit with an ejection seat and a two-piece canopy that can be displayed open. The box holds clear parts for the canopy glazing. Check the exact contents of the box and the number of marking schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Su-15 was a Soviet single-seat twin-engine interceptor intended to defend airspace against bombers. It was marked by a powerful onboard radar, a pair of engines in the rear fuselage and a speed that allowed it to reach a target quickly. The Su-15TM version received a more modern radar and a reworked shape of both the radome and the wing. For many years the type formed the backbone of Soviet air defense and operated from a wide network of intercept airfields.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint and shade the cockpit with its ejection seat before closing the fuselage, and either mask the clear canopy while spraying or display it open. Pay attention to the fit of the air intakes to both engines. Apply primer and the paints with an airbrush; after a gloss coat apply the decals and bring the panel lines out with a wash.
