Responsibility details are not available.
Plastic kit of the German midget submarine Type XXVIIB Seehund in the early version, in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The model is injection-molded in gray plastic and has a two-part full hull, separate diving planes, a twin rudder and a superstructure with a periscope and masts. Two external torpedoes and a display base are included. For the exact contents, follow the information on the package.
The Seehund, meaning seal, was the most successful German midget submarine. The XXVIIB project was created in the spring of 1944 and around 285 were built by the end of the war. They went into action from January 1945, operated from IJmuiden in the Netherlands and were manned by a crew of two. They carried two external torpedoes and, thanks to their small size, were hard to detect. The early version corresponds to the initial configuration of these craft.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and clean up the small items. Finish the superstructure and the periscope with a brush. Spray the hull with an airbrush and pick out the rivets and panel lines with a dark wash. The model comes into its own on the supplied display base or in a small diorama with a jetty.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
